Rondeau Provincial Park

Rondeau Provincial Park is located in southwestern Ontario, and it’s the second oldest provincial park having been established in 1894. It’s open 365 days a year and offers many activities and events for adults, children and families throughout the year.

Rondeau is home to the largest area of Carolinian forest in Canada. It has over 11 kilometres of long sandy beaches and is perfect for sun lovers and swimmers, beautiful waters for anglers, boaters and those who enjoy water activities. Many species of wildlife thrive in the large untouched natural marsh areas.

With the many trails throughout the park, you’ll be impressed with the hiking, biking, and rollerblading opportunities. There are 6 hiking trails and 3 biking trails totaling 38.5 km in length, it’s cycling trails are perfect for all levels of cyclists. In the winter, you can enjoy ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, as well as hiking and bird watching.

Many birders flock to Rondeau Park throughout the year, where there are over 300 species of birds. The park is an important stopover for birds during the migration seasons. Rondeau Park is a world-renowned bird watching destination. In the springtime there’s the “Festival of Flight”, attracting birdwatchers from across USA and Ontario to see the large array of bird species in the park.

There’s so much to do if you’re planning on visiting Rondeau Park.  It’s definitely an Anglers paradise being surrounded by the waters of Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay. While out on the waters surrounding Rondeau Bay, you will soon realize that salmon, walleye, and perch are the most popular catches in Lake Erie. In addition, the warm, vegetation-rich waters of Rondeau Bay offer excellent Largemouth Bass fishing, but there’s also lots of perch, sunfish, crappie, catfish, and pike to be caught. Waterfowl Blind Hunting is available from the middle of September to the middle of December on Rondeau Bay, subject to the Ontario Hunting Regulations. This activity is operated by the Rondeau Bay Waterfowler’sAssociation.
