About Erie-O Motel & Marina
History
Welcome to the Erie-O Motel & Marina, located in beautiful Erieau, Ontario, Canada. This historic location has been a cherished part of the community, growing, developing, and improving over the years. Formerly known as Johnson’s Motel and Marina — and before that, Brown's Motel & Marina with B & B Baits next door — the property was originally built by the Brown family.
Each of our rooms is designed to provide a home-away-from-home experience, featuring a one-bedroom apartment layout that’s perfect for families. Over time, we’ve added an area for our trailer rental friends, complete with hydro and sewage hook-ups. The property now includes lush gardens and a peaceful, relaxing outdoor common area. Most recently, we’ve introduced an outdoor deck space where guests can unwind, BBQ, and enjoy a game of outdoor pool!
Our Story
Since December 21, 2018, the Erie-O Motel & Marina has been proudly owned and managed by Paul Renaud and Bridget Chippett. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to own such a beautiful and unique vacation spot here in Erieau, Ontario.
Prior to becoming the owners, we were regular vacationers at the Erieau Motel. During our stays, we relaxed on the beach, strolled along the pier, shopped on the boulevard while sipping coffee from The Galley Grille Pub, and roamed the streets with an ice cream in hand. We’ve enjoyed beers at The Bayside Brewery, dined on seafood at Molly & OJ’s, and danced to live music at the Sandbar at night.
In September 2017, during one of our getaways to the motel, the owners mentioned they were ready to retire. That moment marked the beginning of our exciting new journey as we started planning to purchase the motel. We’re thrilled for this adventure and deeply appreciate the support of our family and friends along the way.
Dedicated to Our Guests
While there have been challenges (who can forget the global pandemic), we have persevered and built an amazing community of loyal guests and friendships along the way. One of our goals has been to continuously invest in the business so visitors can enjoy an even better experience. Since taking over, we have:
Replaced all the furniture in the rooms
Painted the motel and added new lighting and eavestroughs
Built a beautiful deck for guests to enjoy a fire or a game of pool
Upgraded our internet for high-quality access
Rebuilt all our docks, making the marina a 10/10 for our boating friends
Renovated the motel bathrooms
Updated building signage and added new lighting along the waterfront
...and the list keeps growing!
