Our motel is situated on the peninsula of Erieau Ontario, nestled between Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay. The Rondeau Provincial Park is situated just a short distance away across Rondeau Bay. 


Our amazing geographical location gives our guests and visitors plenty of choice of things to do, from relaxing on the beach to ATV riding, to hiking in Rondeau Park to boating and fishing out on Lake Erie.

Fishing

If you are looking for the very best in Ontario Lake Erie Fishing then visit Erieau!  Erieau is well known across the province for its excellent fishing waters, with its perfect location between Rondeau Bay and the north shore of Lake Erie, it is an angler's paradise.


Salmon, walleye, and perch are amongst the most popular catches when fishing off the north shore of Lake Erie, Ontario. With the warm, vegetation-rich waters of Rondeau Bay fishing offers excellent largemouth Bass fishing opportunities, there’s also lots of perch, sunfish, crappie, catfish, and pike to be caught when fishing in Rondeau Bay. Whether you have your own fishing boat or are looking to try out one of the local fishing charters, you will certainly enjoy an incredible Lake Erie fishing experience right here in Erieau.  


Here at the Erie-O Motel, you can launch your boat straight into Rondeau Bay from our private marina any time. You will be fishing in Rondeau Bay or Lake Erie in just minutes. We have a boat ramp and 20 boat slips to park your vessel. When you have finished fishing out on Lake Erie or in Rondeau Bay you’re welcome to use our fish cleaning hut and store your fish in our common freezer. There are washrooms and shower facilities right at the marina and clean rooms with full kitchens available for you to enjoy your catch at the end of the day.

Boating

Whether you are using a cruiser for a family vacation, a bowrider, a sailboat or a fishing boat we would love to see you come in to enjoy the facilities at the Erie-O Motel. Dock your boat and walk into the charming town of Erieau to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants, have a drink and then enjoy a relaxing walk on the beach and to the pier to see the Erieau lighthouse up close.


Boaters are always welcome at the Erie-O Motel and Marina. We have our own private marina at the motel where we have a boat ramp and 20 boat slips in our marina dock. if you want to stay overnight in one of our motel or cottage rental suites then we would love to host you before you head back out onto the waters of Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay.


Situated directly on the Rondeau Bay our marina offers direct access into the bay itself and fast access to the waters of Lake Erie within just minutes. 


For our boating guests, we offer public showers and washrooms as well as a fish cleaning station for those boaters that want to do some fishing while they enjoy Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay.

Beaches

Sun and sand and water enthusiasts will love Erieau Beach where you can relax on the beautiful sandy beach or enjoy a walk along the Erieau pier toward the lighthouse which is surrounded by Lake Erie. The large and sandy beach area features parking, wheelchair accessible mobi-mats, an accessible playground, volleyball, changing areas and BBQ’s.


Erieau Beach is perfect for family and friends to hang out, or for couples to enjoy a romantic stroll along the Lake Erie shoreline. TheErieau Beach is very clean and well maintained and we hope all visitors continue to respect the area and enjoy all that it has to offer. To add some more fun and excitement to your visit to Erieau Beach, there are places in town where you can rent boats and other water sports equipment.


While you are in Erieau why not try one of the great local eateries, where you can grab a delicious meal or drink in the charming town of Erieau. We are confident that you will enjoy what Erieau has to offer and that you will surely want to come back and visit us again. Visitors can extend their time in Erieau with an overnight stay at the Erie-O Motel which is situated on the waterfront of the Rondeau Bay and is less than 5 minutes from the beach itself. Erieau is surrounded by water, allowing people several options from boating to swimming, and fishing to snorkelling. Don’t hesitate any further and come on out and enjoy all it has to offer.


In addition to the Erieau Beach, Rondeau Provincial Park has one of the region’s longest beach with a spectacular 14 kilometres of clean sandy beach along the Lake Erie shoreline. Rondeau Park is only a short hop from the Erie-O Motel making us the perfect place to stay while you enjoy the region.

Kayaking And Watersports

While staying at the Erie-O Motel & Marina and gazing out onto the Bay, you’ll notice a lot of people out on Rondeau Bay and Lake Erie enjoying various water activities. You will see various water enthusiasts kayaking, canoeing, swimming, paddle boarding, using body boards and wake surfing.


You will also see all the students and children learning to sail during the summer camp activities offered by the nearby Erieau Yacht Club.


If you are a water enthusiast you are welcome to bring your own sports equipment to the Erie-O Motel where we have our own marina and boat ramp that our guests are all welcome to use, however, you are responsible for your equipment at all times.


Although we do not currently offer water sports equipment rental from the Erie-O Motel and Marina at this time there are a few places in Erieau that do rent out water sports equipment. Directly next door to our motel is Bayside Camp and they have kayak, canoe and peddle boat rentals. There is also the Erieau wakeboard and Watersports School.

Bird Watching

Throughout the spring and fall months, many bird watchers come to Rondeau Park to see the journey of the migrating species as they pass through the area. Bird Watching in Rondeau will certainly exceed your expectations.


There are over 300 species of birds that have been spotted in the Rondeau Park area, and at least 130 of those are classified as breeding in the park. Rondeau Park is located on a peninsula that extends into Lake Erie. This unique location makes Rondeau Park a perfect and ideal stop-over for migrating birds. There are a variety of bird species for Bird Watchers to see, making this a year-round birding hotspot as birds make their way north in the spring, and back south in the fall. 

The Erie-O Motel is ideally located, situated with views of Rondeau Bay and only 20 minutes from Rondeau Park. We would be delighted to be your Bird Watching destination of choice after a thrilling day of enjoying the outdoors, nature and bird watching.

Hiking

If hiking is your thing, then the Erie-O Motel will be your perfect stopover. In Erieau and the surrounding areas, there are many outdoor walking, hiking and bicycle trails and opportunities to explore this unique and beautiful area.


In the center of Erieau where our motel is located, there is 1km treed and asphalt trail. This trail connects you to Erieau and to the outskirts where the Erie Shore Trail, the Erieau Marsh Trail, and McGeachy Pond Trail, are all located. This trail goes right down the middle of town and it is beautiful with trees, benches, war memorials, and gardens. It is a perfect place to ride your bike, go for a walk or a jog through the town.


The Erieau Marsh Trail winds along Rondeau Bay and is a popular attraction for nature lovers and bird watchers and offers spectacular views of the Rondeau Bay.


Rondeau Provincial Park is a beautiful, conserved area which has six trails with over 30 km of beautiful scenery to hike and explore. Each of the Rondeau Park trails offers a unique and pleasant hiking experience. The Rondeau Park trails are named as follows, Black Oak – (1.4km), Harrison – (8km one way), Marsh – (7.2km one way), Spicebush – (1.5km), Tulip Tree – (1.4km), Southpoint Trail – (4.5km).

ATV's

ATV enthusiasts can now enjoy their sport out on the excellent trails in Chatham Kent area.


At the Erie-O Motel & Marina, we welcome ATV groups and enthusiasts to come out and enjoy their visits to Erieau as they explore the local trails, or head out on to the ice in the winter.
